
About AEF
Our Story
Since 1950, the Armenian Educational Foundation (AEF) has been committed to providing financial support to students and educational institutions worldwide. AEF initially focused on assisting Armenian schools in the diaspora, particularly in Greece, Syria and Lebanon, before expanding its mission to support Armenian communities in the U.S., and later shifting its focus to Armenia, Artsakh, and Javakhk after Armenia’s independence.


Key Milestones

1965 – Helped fund the first Armenian schools in Southern California.

1986 - Established Armenian Modern History Chair at UCLA

1988 – Provided emergency school reconstruction after the Spitak earthquake.

1990s-Present – Focus shifted to Armenia & Artsakh, supporting scholarships, school renovations, and IT/engineering education programs.

2023 – AEF has funded over $16 million in educational programs, including:
→ $6.3 million in scholarships since 2000
→ $5.4 million in school renovations across 200+ schools
→ $100,000+ for IT and Engineering programs
Board of Directors
AEF is led by a dedicated Board of Directors, ensuring transparency, governance, and strategic oversight. The board comprises professionals from various industries, all united by a commitment to empowering Armenian youth through education.
