STUDENT APPLICATIONS

Awarded to Armenian undergraduate students at an accredited college or university in the United States. Qualifications include:

  • Armenian descent

  • US Residency

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA

  • Demonstrated financial need

  • Active involvement in the Armenian community


Established by the Tufenkian family in memory of Richard R. Tufenkian. The $230,000 endowed fund has provided over $510,000 in scholarships since 1991.

Richard R. Tufenkian Scholarship

Awarded to Armenian graduate students majoring in Music or Performing Arts at an accredited United States college, university, music school, or conservatory. Qualifications include:

  • Armenian descent

  • US Residency

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA

  • Demonstrated financial need

  • Active involvement in the Armenian community

  • Majoring in Music or Performing Arts

Makarian-Arakelians Scholarship

2 AWARDS · $3,000 EACH · GRADUATE

Awarded to Armenian undergraduate and graduate students at an accredited college or university in the United States. Qualifications include:

  • Armenian descent

  • US Residency

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA

  • Demonstrated financial need

  • Active involvement in the Armenian community

Awards Administered by Schools & Organizations

The following awards are funded by AEF but administered directly by each institution. Selection criteria and recipient decisions are made by the school or organization.

Awarded to high school seniors in the Glendale and surrounding area with the highest GPA from each participating school.

  • High school senior in Glendale or surrounding area

  • Pursuing undergraduate education at a college or university

  • Among the top academic performers from each participating school

  • Armenian origin (parent or grandparent)

  • Currently attending Glendale Community College
