Danny D. Marrs is Deputy Executive Director of the Air Force Association (AFA) and Managing Director of the Aerospace Education Foundation (AEF). With the Executive Director, he is responsible for day-to-day oversight of all departments. He joined the staff of the Air Force Association as its Director of Information Systems in 1987.

Beginning in 1984 Marrs was a Division Chief with the 7th Communications Group at the Pentagon. As a senior U.S. Air Force civilian employee, he managed a large Top Secret data center in support of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Studies Analysis, Department of Defense budget support for the Air Staff, Air Force Secretariat and Office of the Secretary of Defense. In this position, he was responsible for the acquisition and integration of new hardware and software, and operations of the 24-hour-a-day data center.

In 1979, following four years on active duty with the United States Air Force as a commissioned officer, he accepted a position with Infodata Systems Incorporated in Falls Church, Virginia as a Senior Data Base Management Consultant The following year, he became a Senior Consultant with SYSCON Corporation in Washington, D.C. During his tenure at SYSCON, he assisted in the design and implementation of naval radar detection systems as a Computer Systems Engineer.

Marrs graduated in 1975 from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and in 1978 he received a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Missouri.

Marrs joined the United States Air Force in 1975 as a Second Lieutenant. His first assignment was with the 351st Strategic Missile Wing at Whiteman Air Force Base as a Deputy Missile Combat Crew Commander. In 1978 he was reassigned to the Pentagon as a computer systems analyst in support of the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Public Affairs.

In 1996, Marrs retired from U.S. Air Force Reserve with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He has received many honors, including an AFA Medal of Merit, two U.S. Air Force Commendation Medals, and four U.S. Air Force civilian superior performance cash awards. He is active in his local civic association where he serves as a member of the board of directors and its treasurer.
